Although no other hurricanes sunk islands quite like the nor'easter of 1893, New York's trouble with flooding didn't quite end there. From Hurricane Belle, which took lives in 1976 to Hurricane Irene hysteria in 2011, New York City has seen its fair share of flood damage.
